Double-knocking
Double-knocking is when two different reps or canvassers visit the same address, usually because the territory wasn't clearly assigned to just one of them.
Why it happens
It's rarely deliberate. It happens when a team coordinates over WhatsApp or a shared spreadsheet and two reps both think a street is theirs, when someone covers for a colleague and works into their patch without anyone updating the plan, or when a new starter is given an area without checking who else has already been assigned it.
What it costs a team
Two visits to the same door instead of two different doors covered. A homeowner who's now had two different pitches and is less likely to say yes to either. And a lead that might get logged twice, skewing the numbers, or not logged at all if both reps assume the other one has it. The fix is structural: assign one named owner to each postcode or street before anyone goes out, so there's no ambiguity to begin with.
